The Faculty of Marine and Fishery Sciences (FIKP) of University Hasanuddin (Unhas) conducted an International Webinar Series 5 with the theme "Marine Ecosystem in a Changing World: A Challenge for Marine Scientist."
The activity that presented Dr. Willem Renema (The Naturalist Netherlands) and Dr. Noel Janetski (PT. Mars Simbioscience) as the speakers started at 14.00 Wita virtually through the zoom meeting application, on Tuesday (22/09).
The activity was opened by the Dean of FIKP Unhas, Dr. Ir. St. Aisjah Farhum, M.Si. Starting his speech, Dr. Aisjah expressed his gratitude for the speakers' willingness to share insights and experiences regarding the challenges for marine scientists in the changing maritime ecosystem.

After the official opening, the webinar then continued with the presentation from the speakers.
Dr. Willem Renema delivered the first topic (The Naturalist Netherlands) on "Can Turbid Coastal Environments Provide Refuge for Coral Reefs in Periods of Warm Climate?" general described the coral reef ecosystem that has an important role in the marine ecosystem.
The material presentation session was closed by Dr. Noel Janetski (PT. Mars Simbioscience), who discussed the "Regenerating Marine Ecosystem - Lesson Learnt," which generally explained the role of several elements that support efforts to conserve coral reefs.
According to Noel, in addition to the community's active involvement to succeed in conserving coral reefs, several other supporting factors are also needed, such as water quality and the selection of methods that are suitable for the location of the coral reefs being developed.
After the presentation, it was followed by a question and answer session from the participants.
